Summer Season – Don’t Splash
Posted by Adrian
July 27th, 2008

In the summer we work on outside jobs, if you are thinking of painting your property exterior then painting the facia and soffit first before the masonry or windows is always the best – facia and soffits may need washing and rubbing down, so by doing this and painting them first saves on any nasty dirt or paint splashes on your new paintwork below.
Always remember to move or cover plants, shrubs and bushes as well as cars before you start too, nothing worse than giving the car a new paint job too!

Save washing up

When using a brush or roller with a water-based paint and you need to finish for the day, wrap your brush or roller in Cling Film or a plastic bag. This keeps the brush or roller supple and soft enough to use the next day.
I wouldn’t recommend leaving a brush or roller stored like this for more than a day this is just an overnight solution, to save on the washing up!

The new blog for propertydecorating.co.uk was launched in July 2008. We have decided to add a blog to our web site to provide visitors with a resource to view the latest news and publish some tips and tricks of the trade, that we hope will be of practical use to our visitors.
The blog also gives a place for visitors to place comments on both the tips and of course the property decorating web site. We also intend to add a testimonial section in the near future, thus providing a place for our customers to comment online about our work.
