Review of Arroworthy Decorating Products
I was recently sent a box of Arroworthy Decorating Products from Coleman Bros Ltd, I always like receiving surprise boxes in the post! I had been chosen from twitter to try out some of the Arroworthy products. Coleman Bros Ltd are launching these products at this years National Painting and Decorating show in Coventry and they wanted some feedback from professional decorators.
I was more than happy to try these new products, I like trying new products out. So here is my review.
My Review of Arroworthy Decorating Products
I was sent the following products,
- ArroWorthy PolyMicro roller Sleeve
- ArroWorthy Microfiber Roller Sleeve
- ArroWorthy Glossdel Plus White Lintless Roller Sleeve
- Arroworthy Barracuda Microfibre Jumbo 4″ Mini Roller & Frame Set
- Arroworthy Barracuda 4″ Mini Roller Frame
- Arroworthy Finultra 1.5″ Straight Cut Standard Handle
- Arroworthy Barracuda 9″ Roller Frame
All the roller Sleeves performed well, with no shedding, they held a good amount of paint whilst leaving a smooth surface. They also cleaned out well. I used the Finultra brush on new wood, to prime and undercoat using a water based paints. It had good paint pick up due to its long filament and was stiff enough thus ideal for cutting in.
The Barracuda 9″ roller frame was a 1.75″ not a 1.5″, so UK standard not US so would fit my existing sleeves, it felt good and strong and has a cageless design, the bit I really liked was the metal spring which holds the roller sleeves on tight, so no slipping as you often get as the sleeves and frames get worn.
The Barracuda 4″ roller frame and sleeve has the exact same design, so a real plus.
Over all I was impressed with all of the products I tried from Arroworthy, so thanks to Coleman Bros Ltd for sending them to try, I shall certainly be using them and if over a long period of use they still hold up well I shall consider buying more Arroworthy products from Coleman Bros.

Painter and decorator based in Southend on Sea
Having lived and worked in the Southend area and working as a painter and decorator since 1993 I have over this time covered a variety of decorating and home improvement and handyman projects. Covering mainly residential work but not exclusively as I have done some commercial projects also. Some of the areas covered are Great Wakering, Barling, Southchurch, Rochford, Southend, Thorpe Bay and surrounding areas.
I find sticking to this area I can keep a good reputation and my name is seen and known around the area, I used to travel further afield but rarely do these days.
Having started my business before the internet became popular I have grown with the web and have websites, blogs, social media such as Twitter and Facebook as well as doing some videos on YouTube. I have also been asked to do reviews for several decorating items and paints. I have also created and coded myself some calculators to help you work out the quantity of materials required for your job. I can work these out for you on an onsite visit and source them if you require.
If you would like me to do your decorating, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 0845 0037 508 or use our online estimate form to arrange an onsite visit. I will visit your property and discuss your requirements, materials and answer any questions you may have, you can also be rest assured that I will be the person who will be doing your job, we do not sub-contract out work, this gives both parties an excellent working relationship. I do not give prices over the phone or without looking at the job, once I have seen and discussed with you your requirements, you will receive an estimate from me, either via email or post.

Painting and Decorating : 20 years

Painting and Decorating for 20 years
2013 sees the 20th year of my decorating career. It was twenty long years ago that I first picked up my paint brushes and rollers and started painting and decorating. I have worked in a few places in the UK during this time but now prefer to stay close to home, here in Southend on Sea.
Over the past 20 years of painting and decorating I have seen a few changes, not only in the painting industry but the economy also, we all have to adapt and a few years ago I also started including DIY and Handyman jobs in the list of services I provide. I feel this offers a complete service to my customers, this came about as my customers often would ask me if I could assemble a flat packed wardrobe for a newly decorated bedroom or hang the odd picture or two, as I know how to do these types of jobs I agreed and now offer this as a service.
I have undertaken commercial work as well as residential work in my career and painted things from warehouses to high street shops to mansion houses.
Styles and fashions have changed over the past 20 years from everything being emulsioned to feature walls, either in emulsion or wallpaper. And who can forget the phase of terracotta!!
Painting and Decorating Website and Blog
Way back when I started there wasn’t the Internet but have had www.propertydecorating.co.uk since 2007 which now includes a painting and decorating tips blog, that has over 60 decorating tips and has proved to be very popular.
I also have two other sites, www.rayfields.co.uk and www.improvingyourproperty.co.uk, both have blogs also covering DIY and Handyman topics as well as painting and decorating.
I have also created and written the code for four materials calculators, a wallpaper calculator, a ceiling paper calculator, a tile calculator and a paint calculator, these have proved to be very popular with lots of hits per day with people working out their materials. These are used not only by DIYer’s but tradesmen also.
I enjoy writing for all the blog’s and helping people out who want to do painting and decorating or DIY jobs around the house but are not sure how to go about it. I find this very rewarding.
New Media
Over more recent years I have started tweeting on Twitter, all the sites have a Facebook pages, I have a Google+ account as well as LinkedIn and a YouTube channel.
YouTube
Most recently I have started to put so video’s up on my YouTube channel, I plan to do lots more of video’s when time allows. But feel free to subscribe to my channel and comment on my videos.
Here’s to another 20 years!!!
